"Humour, often a black humour, plays an important role in all my work. I don't mean jokes, or overt comedy, but sardonic humour, mainly, a very British trait. Having said that, obviously the 'Roald Dahl' book has more humour in it than most of the others, and the book about life in Sweden - 'A Year in Kronoberg' - which is modelled on Peter Mayle's 'A Year in Provence', does take a kind of funny look at ex-pat life. If you want a nice light-hearted read, and maybe to learn a bit about Sweden too, then I can definitely recommend that book".
